Operation Amistad underway! Two @IAF_MCC C17s took-off today for Venezuela with urgent assistance to support their post-earthquake relief efforts. The assistance contains an Indian Army @adgpi Field Hospital Unit and over 35 tons of relief supplies, medicines and medical equipment, including two BHISHM Cubes. India is committed to support the Government and people of Venezuela in this difficult time.

The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to India has underlined that the two countries share a long-standing friendship based on cooperation and respect.

Venezuela has been inviting Indian businesses to explore investment opportunities across several strategic sectors.
The country possesses the world’s largest proven reserves of heavy crude oil—estimated at over 303 billion barrels—while also offering opportunities in natural gas, mining, manufacturing, agriculture, fisheries, forestry and tourism.

Momentum Since the High-Level Visit
Relations received fresh momentum following the August 2023 visit of Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to India. The visit included participation in the India–Latin America and Caribbean Conclave, meetings with Indian leaders and interactions with business communities. The Venezuelan delegation also visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), signalling interest in expanding scientific and technological cooperation.
