Trump says Iran has ‘not yet paid a big enough price’ as he reviews new peace proposal
Iran has submitted a 14-point response to a proposal from the US, state media reported.
Peace proposal: US President Donald Trump said he can’t imagine a new peace plan from Iran he will review “would be acceptable” adding they have not yet paid “a big enough price for what they have done.” Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the room for US decision-making “has narrowed.”
Arms sales: The US has fast-tracked $8 Billion in arms sales to its Middle East allies. Separately, Israel has approved plans to buy new fighter squadrons in a deal estimated to cost billions of dollars, citing “operational lessons” from the Iran war.
Strait of Hormuz: Iran’s parliament is set to approve a law placing restrictions on which vessels can pass through the Strait of Hormuz, according to state media. The US military said yesterday it had intercepted 48 ships in 20 days as part of its ongoing blockade of Iranian ports.
In Lebanon: The Israeli military has issued an urgent evacuation warning for multiple towns in southern Lebanon, including several north of the Litani River. Two of the areas are north of the band of territory occupied by Israeli forces.
